Many students start their BALLB (Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Laws) but due to personal, financial, or academic reasons, they drop out midway. Later, they want to continue and complete their law degree. Here’s how it can be done:
✅ Options for Discontinued BALLB Students
-
Credit Transfer System (Subject to University Policy)
-
If you already studied a few semesters, some universities allow you to transfer your credits to continue from where you left off.
-
Example: If you completed 2 years, you may get admission in 3rd year directly.
-
-
Lateral Entry / Re-Admission
-
Some universities provide re-admission for dropout students.
-
You can restart from the year you discontinued (2nd, 3rd, or 4th year).
-
-
Equivalent / Alternative Degree (Fast Track Mode)
-
For students who only want a law-related qualification for career/academic growth there are One Year or Fast Track Degree Programs in law/arts subjects through ODL.
⚖️ Important Note (BCI Rules)
-
For practicing as a lawyer in courts (Advocate license) – the full 5-year BALLB course (regular mode) is compulsory.
-
If your aim is court practice, you must complete the regular BALLB program.
